The Imperial Sovereign
Court of the Emerald Empire (ISCEE) is a 501 (c) (4) non-profit organization
in Lane County, Oregon, that hosts a variety of events and activities
to raise money for other charities.
While the ISCEE
is the oldest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender organizations
in the area, we do not limit our membership just to LGBT people. Membership
is open to everyone who wishes to make a difference and includes several
supportive heterosexual men and women.
Founded in 1974,
the ISCEE is currently in its 37th year of noble service in the Eugene
/ Springfield area. In addition to our main mission -- raising money
for charities -- the ISCEE is also committed to education and diversity
in our community.
Our first meeting
was held in 1974 where members of the local LGBT community met to
discuss establishing a community based organization as part of the
Imperial Court System. The people in attendance elected Cherrise as
our first Empress and Sharon as our first Emperor. It should be noted
that Sharon was the first woman Emperor ever elected to the Imperial
Court System.
